Cholecystectomy :-
Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Cholecystectomy is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions. Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. The operation is done to remove the gallbladder due to gallstone causing pain or infection.
- Low fever
- Nausea
- Jaundice
Sign and Symptoms:-
The most common symptoms of cholecystitis are:-
- sharp pain in the right abdomen
- low fever
- nausea
- jaundice
Common test :-
- Blood test :CBC (complete blood count)
- Liver Function Test
- abdominal ultrasound is the most common study for gall bladder disease
Surgical Treatment :-
A Cholecystectomy or removal of the gallbladder is recommended operation for gallbladder pain from gall stone.
Laparoscopy (Cholecystectomy):-
This technique is most common for simple Cholecystectomy . The surgeon will make several small incision in the abdomen port ( hollow tubes) are insert into the opening. Surgical tools and a light camera are placed into the ports. The abdomen is in inflated with carbon dioxide gas to make it easy to see the the internal organs. The gallbladder is removed and the port opening are closed with future surgical clips or glue.Surgeon may start with our laparoscopy technique and need to change to an open laparotomy technique. The procedure take about 1 to 2 hours.
Open Cholecystectomy :-
The surgeon make an incision approximately 6 inches long in the upper right side of the abdomen and cut through the fat and muscle to the gallbladder. The gallbladder is removed and any duct are clamped off. The sites is stapled or sutured closed. A small drain may be placed going from the inside to the outside of the abdomen. The drain is usually removed in the hospital. The procedure to take about 1 to 2 hours.
