Physical Properties of Water by Vi jay Sir

          Physical properties of water

Water is a molecule made up of two hydrogen atom and one oxygen atom. Pure water is colorless and tasteless. Water appears in nature in all three common state of matter.

    Ice      >       Water          >         Gas

  Solid               Liquid                    Gas

Boiling point of  water   -     100'c

Melting point of water   -       0' c

Maximum density :-

                                    1 gram CM cube .

If water maximum density on 4 'c then. it's maximum density 1 g cm cube.

  • Pure water does not conduct electricity.

  • Water has universal solvent.

               Colligative properties

The property of the solution that depends only the number of solute particles in solution and not on the nature of solute particles called as colligative properties.

Relative

            -  Va-pour pressure lower
            -  Elevated of boiling point
            -  Freezing point
            -  Osmotic pressure.
