Vital Signs
Vital Signs :-
Vital signs are measurement of the body's most basic function. The four mainly vital signs routinely by health care and medical professionals provider including the following:
- Body Temperature
- Pulse Rate
- Respiratory Rate
BODY TEMPERATURE
Body Temperature :-
The normal body temperature of a person various depending on gender ,food and fluid consumption , time of day .
Normal Value -
Normal body temperature can range from 36.5 - 37.5'c or 97.7 - 99.5'f for a health adults.
Routes -
- By Mouth
- By Axillary
- By Skin
Body temperature may be abnormal due to fever (high temperature) and if decrease the normal value called hypothermia.
RESPIRATION RATE
Respiration Rate :-
The respiration rate is the number of breath a person take per minutes . The rate is usually measured when a person is at rest and simply involves counting the number of breaths for one minute by counting how many time the chest rises.
Normal Value :-
Normal respiration rates for an adult person at rest range from 12 - 16 breaths per minutes .Normal respiration rates may increase with fever , illness and other medical conditions .
PULSE RATE
Pulse Rate :-
The pulse rate is a measurement of the heart rate , or the number of times the heart beats per minutes.
Normal value :-
The normal pulse for healthy adults range from 60 - 100 beats per minutes. The pulse rate may increase , illness , injury and emotions.
Blood Pressure
Blood Pressure :-
Blood Pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the artery walls during contractions of the heart. Two numbers are recorded when measuring blood pressure . The higher number or systolic pressure refers to the pressure inside the artery when the heart is at rest and is filling with blood . Both the systolic and diastolic pressure record as "mm Hg" (millimetre of mercury ) .
The high blood pressure or hypertension , directly increase the risk of heart attack , heart failure and stroke .
Normal Value :-
Normal blood pressure systolic less than 120 and diastolic of less than 80 (120/80 mm/Hg)
