Biomedical waste may be defined as solid fluid or liquid fluid waste material including its container and any other intermediate product which is generated during short term and long term are consisting of observational and diagnostic service for a person suffering from disease or injury or during research pertaining to production and testing of biological during immunization of human being.
Yellow :-
Infectious waste anatomical, dead animal, microbiology used cotton pads , bandages , soiled , laboratory waste materials.
Red :-
Disinfected containers , plastic bags , Biochemistry of waste material etc.
Blue :-
All types of glass bottles broken , sharp glass articles , blades , needle , scalpels etc.

Black :-
Outdated and discarded medicines (like pesticides , rat kill medicines etc).
Some important points :-
- Bio-Medical Waste Management and handling rule 1998.
- Came into into force 28 July 1998 .
- It is Prescribed by minister of Environment and forest.
