Autoclave - 
            It is useful in 
1.Destruction of pathogenic organisms.
2.Destruction of non-pathogenic organisms.
3.Destruction of spores.
Name of apparatus : 
                    Autoclave
Principle -
            Steam under pressure is due to heat of moist steam under pressure and not the pressure itself.
Mechanism -
            Temperature 121'c at 15 lbs pressure for 15 to 20 min.
Point of remember - 
All the air is allowed to escape.
Chamber is filled with steam.
Pressure of steam reaches at 15 lbs and remains constant.
Bundle should not be very large.
Bundle should be loosely.
There should be free flow of steam inside the chamber.
The sterilized articles must be wet or damp while removing from autoclave.
Temperature rises to 121'c and remains constant for a given time.
